The HP IPAQ 6515 was a great PDA Phone with a built-in GPS when it first came out, sadly HP has simply been sitting back on a minor success. They released different versions ranging from the IPAQ 6510 to 6515a to 6515e and ultimately it was all the same hardware with different model names.

I am starting this rant because my IPAQ 6515e crashed again, its been a weekly occurrence which is unacceptable especially when I have the most recent firmware. NFI how many important calls I may have missed.

It is very pathetic to see HP attempt to sell the 6515 as a GPS navigator when other phone companies such as Dopod have been quietly integrating GPS as a standard feature in their new phones. My next phone will probably be a Dopod or HTC as they look like they are doing real well with the latest models.

Apart from screwing their customers with sub-standard firmware upgrades, HP have also decided not to release upgrades to Windows Mobile 5. Especially so when other companies are already releasing Windows Mobile 6 firmware updates.

This is brings about the Spectec SDIO Wifi 802.11b card which HP had recommended as a compatible WIFI card for the IPAQ 6515. Well, it does not support WPA2 and Spectec support blame it as an OS fault that Microsoft did not provide support for it in Windows CE 2003 hence I cant get wireless connection at work.

I will never buy another PDA from HP again.

Alot of websites have given tutorials about how to justify text in GIMP Image Editor. What most of them forgot to mentioned is that you can align the text left, right or center but not justified even though it has the button there. This was tested in GIMP 2.2 and a current version 2.3. Justified text makes then text line up on both the left and right border of the text box and evenly adjusting the line spacing between the letters in each line to accomplish this.

It turns out from this forum post that its just a placeholder and a patch can be used to enable it. This article also talks about a proposal to implement the justify feature as part of Google’s Summer of code 2007.

Anyway, here is a simple method of justifying text in GIMP without patches.

1. You need to have a new text box for each line
2. Manually ensure that each line is almost the same length or shorter than desired
3. Then in the text box properties section, look for the “Letter Spacing” (See screen shot on right) setting and adjust it until all the lines are visibly the same and inline

I am posting this here because I spent the last hour taking snaps to put on EBay because they sent me SPAM about a Paypal promotion for one free listing and free gallery plus package. So I thought why not find something to sell for the hell of it? I found a complete Tungsten W with original accessories and box in my treasure chest and the battery still works fine. After doing all the hard work of taking snapshots and typing up the listing, eBay tells me that it would cost me 4 bucks just for the listing. So next I spent 10mins queuing up for eBay’s Live Help who took 30mins to tell me that the offer had just expired when the eBay SPAM says it expires on the 25th July.

What a crock of shit eBay… :crazy:
